Author Al-Ta'i Haddawi presents a critique on Arabic literature, with an emphasis on the historical, the theoretical and the methodological backgrounds. This research is inspired by the works of the foremost literary scientist Julien Greimas (1917-1992) on narrative semantics - the rhetoric and structural research dealing with folklore and oral literature in general.
