A translation to Arabic of 'L'interdite;, (The Forbidden), a novel first published in 1993 in French, by Algerian writer Malika Muqaddim, with translation to Arabic of Muhammad Sari. The novel takes place in postcolonial Algeria. It is a love story involving intrigue and the influence of dramatic event from the past. It paints a picture of the patriarchal society of the time period and its influence on the opinions and actions of the village.
